Their comment is a bit vague, but it sounds like they are concerned about the FCC possibly reinterpreting the protections granted to user content hosts under the Communications Decency Act. It’s not clear that that’s actually going to happen, that the FCC actually has the authority to do so, or that it would be constitutional, but of course G/O Media can shut us down for any reason they want. It may help you feel better, but probably not much beyond that. Trump (apparently) losing may help make the FCC not want to stick their neck out for him, but given that G/O has been toying with the idea of getting rid of us for a while, I doubt anything the FCC does would change their minds any.

Its not entirely Trump, the push to reinterpret Section 230 is also being pushed by people wanting to control misinformation/fake news that gets posted on social media and blogs, a lot of which is usually classified as pro-Trump. Basically, people are pissed that elderly people take unverified conspiracy theory email forwards they get, and post them on Facebook as if they’ve uncovered some hidden scoop or astounding revelation, so they're trying to make sure Facebook can be sued, fined, or prosecuted if their members continue to do stuff like that. But, it's going to end up applying to every single website and social media outlet.

It’s definitely a bad idea regardless of who’s backing it. But it is the Republican FCC commissioners who are being receptive.

Biden has also supported repeal of 230, so that isn't going to change with new appointees.

My hope anyways is that Biden at least has people around him to tell him “no, that’s a terrible idea”. But we’ll see, this is one place where neither candidate is right.

I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be like an old boss I had once, where you could get him to agree to just about anything as long as you carefully phrased it to sound like it was his idea that he explained to you earlier and you're just spitting it back

“Possibly” is the key word here, and I thought the whole Section 230 thing was settled on the usual grounds of “Trump is a moron who doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about.”
This herbaceous warning box reeks of “this is an excuse to nuke blogs we can’t control.”
